What’s important to you? (This is where the picture makes sense and is my poor attempt at humor)
I love walking through the Oklahoma City Memorial. I’ve found it’s really easy to answer the question, what’s important to you, while I’m at the Memorial.
A friend of mine once said, “crisis is a great editor”. I have found this to be REALLY TRUE. When a crisis happens, it usually strips away the things that don’t matter. However, I want to live my life without a crisis making me realize I wasn’t living life the way I should.
My first job in the military was SUPPLY/WAREHOUSE. So, maybe that’s why I like INVENTORY. I find huge value in conducting a life inventory. This inventory is simply checking to make sure that the things I say are IMPORTANT to me are really the things that ARE IMPORTANT to me.
Here are 3 easy ways to check to see if things that I say line up with what I’m doing:
- How am I spending my TIME?
- Where am I spending my MONEY?
- What do I TALK about?
Simple, but it really brings awareness to where things really are concerning the things I say are important. If things aren’t where they need to be make the change and get your TIME, MONEY, and your TALK lined up with what’s really important to you!
